Feis Weekend Information

The 3rd annual East Coast Feis (ECF) will take place Oct. 3rd and 4th, 2026. CLRG grade exams will also be held during the day on Oct. 2nd, 2026. The ECF will be held in the famous Annapolis Valley during its fruitful harvest season and will consist of two, full-syllabus feiseanna. Central Kings High School is our spacious venue in Cambridge, Nova Scotia, Canada. The East Coast ‘double’ Feis is run in partnership with Tir na nÓg Irish Dance Studios.

Registration and Merchandise

Registration will be on feis.link. Each day of competition is a full separate competition, giving you a fantastic back-to-back experience. Registration for each feis needs to be done individually. Please be sure to take a look at the 2026 competition syllabus to make note of some differences between the two days.

In the event of a qualifying level advancement on Saturday, you will have the opportunity to move up for Sunday. Ask your teacher first.

Grade Exams

Grade exams will take place on Friday, Oct. 2nd, during the day. We have applied to host primary to grade 12 exams. More information soon.

Exam / Level Assessments will be held at Tir na nÓg Irish Dance Studios.

Cambridge is about and hour and fifteen minutes from Halifax. In this rural area, there are not many hotels available. We suggest finding accommodation near the venue with Airbnb, B&B’s, or the nearby hotel/motels. There is no official hotel for accommodation.

We know you are busy. There are many aspects involved in our Feis culture at so many levels. From shoes and hair to awards and sound systems, from staging to signage, and chairs and food. There is a lot to organise and if you can help out, even in a small way, it will lighten the load for everyone!

With true East Coast spirit we know how to help each other out. While at the feis keep your items in their place and put all garbage in the bins. We want to respect our venue so that we can come again and again.

Let’s all be good guests and leave the place better than we found it!

Heavy Loads and Lights Tasks

Starting now there are preperations to be done.

There are many things to do leading up to the feis; like registration detailing, organising and moving stages, and booking people and items needed.

There are many jobs on the day too; like sidestage organisers, helpers at the entry desk and results room, food handlers, and hands to hand out awards.

When the feis is done for the weekend we’ll need; help with the big take down, items organised and stored, and getting our esteemed adjudicators and musicians home.

A list will be open soon for you to sign up to use your skills in the best way!

EAST COAST FEIS

All parents can bring their child to class and encourage them to have fun and remind them to practice at home…however sometimes parents want to do more!

Here are three things you can do to help even without knowing anything about Irish Dance!!

1. Get them to stand randomly and work on turning their toes out to the side but not past their knees. When thought of it this way they turn their whole leg, from the hip, and it is safe. They can do this while simply brushing their teeth.

2. Ask them to skip through the house and remind them to cross their knees. This can be done when you need sometime from the other room or they are on their way to the toilet.

3. When sitting at the dinner table, remind them to sit up with shoulders back.

Bonus: While reading books or watching TV or the iPod, dancers can sit and stretch.
